The Diocesan Education Service and the Catholic Schools Appeals Service recently ran some short seminars for school staff and governors on admissions and appeals. The course slides on admissions are attached.
As part of the seminar attention was drawn to the actions that schools need to complete during the consultation on and determination of 2016-17 admissions policies. Also attached for your information is a document entitled 'Admissions Policies, Consultation and Code Compliance' which was first issued to all schools in October this year. This summarises the changes being made to the admissions policies for Catholic schools and academies within the Nottingham Diocese for the 2016-17 admissions round and provides guidance to schools on what actions they need to take during the consultation and determination processes in order to ensure that schools are compliant with the School Admissions Code.
The guidance note also includes details of what documents schools need to ensure are published on their websites which includes the three flowcharts for management of appeals which are also attached to this article for completeness.
