CAFOD fundraising at S. Mary's Catholic Primary Academy, Grimsby
Every year, during Lent, children and staff in our school raise money for CAFOD. This year, CAFOD set schools the challenge of raising money to buy essentials for families in developing countries.
There’s nothing better than raising money with a smile on your face! We had lots of smiles and giggles whilst raising an incredible amount of money. This year, children, their families and staff raised money by holding a different event every Friday during term time. These included: dressing up at rocks stars, coming to school as their favourite character from a book, having a number day and also dressing up as a famous person from history. On the last week of term, the children decorated eggs and they made a contribution to enter a competition. We had some eggcellent entries- they were all cracking.
During Lent this year, we raised the grand total of more than £450! And doubled by the government!
What an amazing achievement from everyone involved. We are very proud that we will be helping make better and brighter life for other people in need. What a fantastic gift to give!
