‘Inspired by the life, message and example of Jesus Christ’

Following the retirement of the current CEO, the Trust Board is seeking to appoint a CEO to lead the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust. Formed in September 2018, the Trust, part of the Diocese of Nottingham, brought 25 Catholic schools located in Derby City, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Stockport together in partnership, to ensure the very best spiritual, social and academic experiences and outcomes for the young people in our schools. The Trust has the privilege to serve over 8000 children and has a team of around 1200 staff across 20 primary and 5 secondary schools.

“We are a Catholic family of schools, working as one, transforming every individual, their family and our Trust community through the building of God’s Kingdom, caring for our environment, today rather than tomorrow.”

Within the Trust community, we develop young minds, helping every child aspire to achieve their best academically as well as focusing on the growth of character and the development of the whole person. Our vision goes beyond our individual academies. We believe that the best academies are built around a strong sense of being one community and that is something we all aspire to in our Trust.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding strategic leader able to develop and articulate the vision, values and ethos of the Trust and will empower others to do the same. You will bring in-depth knowledge and experience of contemporary thinking about effective leadership, a track record of successful change management and partnership working, and extensive staff development experience and expertise. Equally important is your passion for education and children’s learning, determination to make a positive difference and commitment to continuous improvement. Following the promotion of the Senior Director of School Improvement to be the CEO of another Academy Trust, the new CEO will have the opportunity to review and develop the organisation of the senior executive team.

You will possess the expertise, vision and credibility to command confidence, working in partnership with the central team, academy leaders, academy staff, trustees and local governing bodies, and ensuring effective links between the educational, financial and commercial operations of a geographically dispersed Trust. The CEO will need to develop the Trust offering to be competitive and ensure pupils are attracted across all Academies. Applications will be welcomed from experienced education leaders as well as those from outside the education sector. The appointed candidate will be a practicing Catholic, who will strive to uphold and develop strong spiritual and moral values throughout the whole Trust.
