Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary
As Presentation Sisters we are women who have responded to the call to follow Christ in the spirit of our founder Venerable Nano Nagle. Nano was a heroic woman who pioneered radical Catholic education in eighteenth century Ireland. In fidelity to her founding spirit, we respond creatively in the contexts where we live and minister.
We are dedicated to reaching out to those on the margins by engaging in compassionate service, especially through various forms of education. Aware of our interconnectedness with each other and all of creation calls us to a Spirituality of Being in Communion and to awaken to the spirit of God present and active in all of life.
Our commitment to prayer and contemplation is at the heart of our lives in community as we strive to live in mutual love and unity. We are committed to living sustainably as we promote justice, peace and equality.
We are an international Congregation. In the Nottingham Diocese, the Sisters can be found in Nottingham, Derby, Shirebrook, Matlock, Market Harborough and Leicester. The sisters in the Diocese are involved in Parish and Pastoral Ministry, Prayer and Spirituality, Spiritual Direction, Accompaniment and Caring.
