This gathering is for Priests and Deacons.

Bishop Patrick encourages you to attend especially because this event is a response to the two themes which were identified (among many) as priorities at last year's conferences. These were: leadership in a post-Covid Church and managing change and multiple parishes.

Given this brief, we have engaged Raymond Friel who will anchor us in the spirituality of these two priorities from within the landscape of emerging Catholic voices, organisations, leadership, diminishing resources and current trends in our culture.

Deacon Juan Carlos Valer will introduce us to what can be a potentially life-saving management tool that can radically reduce a bishop’s/priest’s/deacon’s ‘admin time’ and therefore enable him to devote more time to ministry and pastoral work.

Father Chris Ryan has been asked by Bishop Patrick to give us a presentation by livestream on ‘missional preaching’ in a way that speaks to the lived experiences that Raymond Friel would have shared with us at the earlier sessions of the conference but also the many voices we have heard during our Synod process. Capturing the hearts of the faithful during a limited amount of time in a homily is an art that needs to be returned to again and again. ‍
