Training for Catechists

The Bishop’s Certificate in Catechesis provides training and formation to our catechists so that they can pass on the Catholic faith with effectiveness and confidence.

This course covers the fundamentals of the faith, the essential skills of catechists, and also nurtures spiritual formation.

This course is divided into twelve sessions followed by a commissioning service by the Bishop. We offer this course as locally and affordably as possible.

Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies

This course seeks to enable people to take up their ministry with greater confidence. It explores questions of faith, belief, and everyday living as a member of the Catholic Community today, through prayer, shared reflection, group discussion, and study.

The course is for those involved in areas of ministry such as teaching and the various ministries involved in parish life today – catechists, eucharistic ministers, parish pastoral councils, youth work, or justice and peace.

This is a rolling programme and you can join at any module. The Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies is awarded by the Board of Religious Studies on behalf of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales.
