Something is already happening at The Briars this summer. A group of young people have been working through the Alpha Youth course together and they've been inviting their friends. On Saturday 11 July, those friendships become the context for something bigger: a Holy Spirit Day, open to young people from across the Diocese.

Run by an experienced team from The Ascent, the day is open to young people aged 14 to 18 whether they come through a parish, a youth group, or on their own. You do not need to have done Alpha before. The cost is £3 per person, covering lunch, snacks, and all materials.

FAQ

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith, open to anyone regardless of where they are in their journey. The Youth Alpha version is designed for young people aged 14 to 18. The Holy Spirit Day is a standalone element focused on who the Holy Spirit is and what difference that makes.

Do I need to have done Alpha before?
No. The day is open to any young person aged 14 to 18.

Can individuals come, or does it need to be a group?
Both. Parishes and youth groups are welcome to bring groups, but individuals are equally welcome to come on their own.

What is The Ascent?
The Ascent is a Catholic youth mission organisation running Alpha and other programmes for young people. They are leading this day at The Briars.

Is £3 the full cost?
Yes, it covers lunch, snacks, and all materials for the day.
