The Diocese of Nottingham is offering three online courses to help build catechists' confidence and knowledge to live this wonderful ministry. If you are starting out as a Catechist or have been one for a number of years, there will be something here for you. You can choose to study one, two or all three courses.
Encountering Catechesis: exploring the foundations of parish catechesis.
These four sessions will explore key principles of Catechesis to build confidence. It is great for those considering being a catechist or wanting to get the foundations right.
Begins: 15th November 2023
Discipleship Catechesis: examining core Church teachings and how to pass them on.
These six sessions will explore key elements oft he Catholic Faith and how they can be explored through Catechesis. It would suit a catechist who wishes to go deeper in their knowledge and understanding.
Begins: 24th January 2024
Missionary Catechesis: discovering how your parish can go beyond sacramental preparation.
These four sessions will help identify key principles to develop a culture of ongoing catechesis, formation and discipleship. Ideal for those more experienced catechists or anyone who would like to take their catechesis further.
