The Diocese of Nottingham will celebrate the invaluable work of catechists as part of its jubilee celebrations.
On Saturday 11 October, St Joseph’s Church, Leicester, will host a Jubilee of Catechists from 10am-4pm.
There will be the celebration of Holy Mass and Dr Mark Nash, Director for the Agency for Evangelisation and Catechesis, will deliver two keynote addresses to all catechists in attendance.
There will also be workshops to support catechists in enhancing their ministry, along with social time to facilitate friendships and networks, among the catechetical community.
Speaking ahead of the event, Joe Hopkins, Director for Adult Formation and Mission said: “Catechists are dedicated and tenacious pilgrims of hope, quietly working away to ensure the transmission of the faith for future generations. It is absolutely right that our Jubilee Year should dedicate time to recognise and celebrate their selfless efforts, in ensuring that everyone really knows the love of God.”
