Job title: Cleaner

Purpose of role: Maintain high standards of cleanliness.  

Based at: Our Lady of Lincoln Catholic Church, Lincoln

Hours of work: 2 days x 3.5 hours a day (7 hours per week in total)

Line Manager: Parish Priest

Main responsibilities (not exhaustive):

 

·      Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop designated areas, empty and wash all bins. ·      Carry out deep clean and detailed tasks as required and/or requested.

·      Clean, stock and supply designated facilities – (e.g. Toilets)

·      Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials are maintained, ensuring they are stored correctly and that COSHH guidelines are adhered to.

·      Notify line manager of any deficiencies or repairs required.

·      Any other reasonable task requested by the line manager.

·      Adhere to all current health and safety regulations, undertaking relevant training as required.

 

Experience and qualifications required for role:

 

No specific qualifications or experience are required for the post of cleaner. General skills required are:

·     Good interpersonal and communication skills with parishioners and other uses of the building

·     Physical ability to carry out the role.

·     Good planning and organisational skills.

·     A positive and approachable manner.

·     Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality standards of work.

·     Good attention to detail.

·     Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

·     High level of attention to detail.

·     Willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the parish groups/hall hires as well as embrace new ideas and processes.
