By the end of the year, most of us are running on empty. ADVENTure is a weekend away for young people in school years 10 to 13, held at The Briars retreat centre in the Derbyshire hills on the very weekend Advent begins, a chance to press pause, rest, refill, and enter into Advent properly.
If you've ever come home from a school retreat still talking about it, this is the next thing.
It's an open weekend: come alone or bring a friend. First-timers are as welcome as returners, for a weekend full of festive fun, community, and something more.
The cost is £50 per person, covering accommodation, meals, and the full programme. Bursaries are available if cost is a barrier, email events@ndcys.com to ask.
The Briars is at Briars' Lane, Crich, Matlock, DE4 5BW. Lifts from Ambergate train station can be arranged.

Who is ADVENTure for?
Young people in school years 10 to 13. You don't need to be part of a parish group or have been on a retreat before.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Come alone or bring a friend, both are equally welcome.
What does £50 cover?
All accommodation, meals, and the full weekend programme. Nothing extra to pay on the day.
What if I can't afford the £50?
Bursaries are available. Email events@ndcys.com before the booking deadline and ask, it won't be a problem.
Can families come to Mass?
Yes, the Saturday evening Mass at 7pm is open to families and friends.

The Briars is at Briars' Lane, Crich, Matlock, DE4 5BW. If you're travelling by train, lifts from Ambergate station can be arranged, mention this when you book.

The Briars is the Diocese of Nottingham's retreat centre in the Derbyshire hills, run by NDCYS. It hosts residential retreats and events for young people across the Diocese throughout the year.
