There are places that do something to you the moment you arrive. Mount Saint Bernard Abbey, set in the ancient woodland of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire, is one of them. The quiet is different there. The stone is old. The monks have been praying on that land since 1835.
On Sunday 13 September, families are invited to spend an afternoon there together. Outdoor Mass begins at 2pm, followed by a Family Picnic, Marian Procession, and Adoration.
Bring a chair or a picnic blanket, food and drink, and as much of your family as you can gather. The afternoon is yours to share.
