Piano recital by Antony Clare at Cathedral Hall, Nottingham, Friday 16 October 2026, 7pm. Twentieth century and contemporary music by Glass, Skempton, Ustvolskaya, Satoh and Montague. Free entry.
One of Nottingham's most distinguished pianists. An hour of music from Japan, Russia, the USA and the UK. And one of the city's most beautiful spaces to hear it in.
Antony Clare gives a recital of twentieth century and contemporary piano music in Cathedral Hall, Nottingham, on Friday 16 October at 7pm. The programme moves from the mesmerisingly hypnotic — Philip Glass, Toru Satoh — through the tiny jewel-like pieces of Howard Skempton, the humour of Stephen Montague, and the extraordinary single-mindedness of Galina Ustvolskaya. Colourful, varied, and thoroughly worth an evening of your time.
Admission is free. Donations to the Cathedral Music Fund are warmly welcomed.
