This year we are delighted that representatives from the Loughborough Deanery will be helping to plan and animate the liturgy.
The celebration is significant as it marks the 40th anniversary of the first Rite of Election in the diocese. To commemorate this, we hope to gather at least 40 testimonies from people who previously attended the Rite of Election as catechumens or candidates, sharing how their faith has grown since that time. If there is a member of your parish who you think would like to contribute please let me know.
Please register using the following link:

A preparation document will be sent out in a couple of weeks to all those who have registered. This will include key information about the day and practical arrangements.
During the Rite of Election, we will be collecting donations for:
• LOROS Hospice, Leicester
Website: LOROS Hospice: Free care and support for terminally ill patients
We would be very grateful for donations of toiletries and/or food items. Please note that we can only accept dry, non-perishable food goods, such as tins, pasta, rice, and cereal.
• Rainbows Children's Hospice, Leicester
Website: Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People
As we have just come through the Christmas period, Rainbows Hospice is currently well supplied with toys. However any non-perishable food items to be used by their catering team would be very welcome.
Thank you for your continued support of this important diocesan celebration.
We look forward to welcoming you, your catechumens, candidates, sponsors, and parish representatives to the Cathedral in February.
